# SlimVID Privacy Policy **Effective Date: September 10, 2026** **Last Updated: September 10, 2026** SlimVID is a video optimization service for merchants using Shopify. SlimVID is operated by **Ori Game Limited**, a company incorporated in Hong Kong (“SlimVID,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). SlimVID is an independent third-party application. SlimVID is not endorsed, sponsored by, or affiliated with Shopify Inc. Shopify and its services are governed by Shopify's own terms, privacy policies, and platform rules. This Privacy Policy explains how SlimVID collects, uses, discloses, retains, and protects information when merchants install, access, or use the SlimVID application, websites, video-processing services, storefront functionality, and related services (collectively, the “Service”). ## 1. Scope of This Privacy Policy This Privacy Policy applies to: - the SlimVID Shopify application; - SlimVID's embedded Shopify Admin interfaces; - SlimVID video-processing infrastructure; - SlimVID's Theme App Embed and App Proxy functionality; - SlimVID websites and APIs; - operational and diagnostic systems used to provide the Service; and - communications with SlimVID support. This Privacy Policy does not govern Shopify's own processing of information or the processing activities of other applications, themes, platforms, or service providers operating under their own privacy policies. SlimVID is intended primarily for merchants and authorized business users. ## 2. Our Role in Processing Information For information relating to SlimVID merchant accounts, subscriptions, application operation, support, security, and administration, Ori Game Limited may act as the entity responsible for determining the purposes and means of processing. Where SlimVID processes personal information contained in a merchant's video or other merchant-provided content solely to provide the Service, SlimVID generally processes that information on behalf of the merchant. The merchant remains responsible for determining whether it has all notices, permissions, consents, licenses, releases, or other lawful authority required to provide that content to SlimVID for processing. ## 3. Information We Receive Through Shopify When a merchant installs and uses SlimVID, Shopify permits SlimVID to access limited store information required to provide the Service. SlimVID currently requests the following Shopify permissions: ### read_products Used to identify applicable products and Shopify-hosted product videos and to read product media information required for video selection, optimization, and related operations. ### read_themes Used to obtain theme-related information required to support or verify SlimVID storefront integration, including Theme App Embed functionality. ### read_files Used to identify relevant Shopify-hosted files and inspect file or media availability and processing status. ### write_files Used to create or manage Shopify Files required to provide optimized or replacement video results. Depending on the workflow, information obtained through Shopify may include: - shop domain; - shop or store identifier; - app installation status; - granted application scopes; - subscription and billing state; - product identifier; - product title; - product media identifiers; - Shopify Video identifiers; - Shopify File identifiers; - product media position; - media processing or availability status; - video source URLs; - video dimensions; - video duration; - video file size; - relevant file or media format information; and - events delivered through Shopify webhooks. SlimVID does **not currently request Shopify Customer or Order access scopes as part of its core Service**. Accordingly, SlimVID is not designed to obtain buyer names, buyer email addresses, telephone numbers, shipping addresses, order histories, or payment information through Shopify Customer or Order APIs. ## 4. Information Merchants Provide Directly A merchant may directly provide or select information through SlimVID, including: - source video files; - replacement video files; - video-processing choices; - optimization presets; - product selections; - Apply instructions; - Restore instructions; - configuration choices; and - other information necessary to use the Service. If a merchant contacts SlimVID for support, we may also receive: - the merchant's name; - business email address; - Shopify store domain; - support message content; - screenshots; - screen recordings; - files voluntarily provided by the merchant; - diagnostic information; and - previous support communications. A video may itself contain personal information, including a person's image, likeness, voice, name, or other identifiable information. SlimVID processes such content only as reasonably necessary to provide, secure, troubleshoot, and support the Service or to comply with applicable legal obligations. ## 5. Operational, Usage, and Diagnostic Information SlimVID generates and processes technical information necessary to operate the Service. Depending on the activity, this information may include: - product IDs; - Shopify Video IDs; - Shopify File IDs; - video-processing task IDs; - source generation or source version information; - selected processing preset; - original and optimized video mappings; - optimized file URLs; - processing state; - Apply state; - Restore state; - replacement state; - timestamps; - retry information; - optimization usage counts; - subscription entitlement information; - error codes; - service events; and - diagnostic information. We may also process limited technical and usage information such as: - actions performed in the application; - task creation and completion timestamps; - optimization success or failure events; - request metadata; - browser type; - device information; - user-agent information; - IP address; - server logs; - application performance information; and - security events. We use this information to provide, secure, diagnose, maintain, and improve SlimVID. SlimVID does not use its storefront functionality to create advertising profiles of shoppers. ## 6. Subscription and Billing Information SlimVID subscriptions are generally billed through Shopify Billing. SlimVID may receive or maintain information concerning: - selected subscription plan; - subscription status; - billing approval state; - applicable service entitlement; - usage allowance or limits; and - related Shopify billing events. SlimVID does not receive or store a merchant's full payment-card number through the SlimVID application. Payment processing is handled through Shopify and remains subject to Shopify's applicable terms and privacy practices. ## 7. How We Use Information SlimVID uses information where reasonably necessary to: - authenticate and identify merchants; - provide and operate the SlimVID Service; - identify eligible Shopify-hosted product videos; - analyze source video files; - perform video processing and optimization; - create optimized video files; - upload applicable files to Shopify Files; - maintain mappings between original and optimized files; - provide Preview, Apply, replacement, fallback, and Restore functionality; - display processing and optimization status; - administer subscriptions and service limits; - respond to Shopify installation, product, theme, billing, and compliance events; - diagnose failures; - reduce storefront playback failures; - detect and prevent abuse; - protect application and infrastructure security; - investigate security incidents; - provide merchant support; - improve Service reliability and functionality; - maintain necessary business and audit records; - enforce the SlimVID Terms of Service; and - comply with applicable laws and Shopify platform requirements. Where applicable law requires a legal basis for processing personal information, the applicable basis may include performance of a contract, legitimate interests in operating and securing the Service, compliance with legal obligations, or consent where consent is required. ## 8. Video Processing SlimVID may temporarily access or download a Shopify-hosted source video, or receive a new source video supplied by the merchant, for video processing. Processing may include: - downloading; - decoding; - technical analysis; - transcoding; - compression; - generation of technical derivative files; - temporary storage during processing; and - uploading the resulting file. Temporary source files, intermediate files, and processing artifacts are not intended to serve as permanent merchant storage. They are retained only for as long as reasonably necessary to complete processing, retry failed operations, troubleshoot operational problems, maintain security, or satisfy applicable legal requirements, and are routinely removed when no longer required. Optimized output files may be uploaded to Shopify Files. Once a file is stored within Shopify infrastructure, the file is also subject to Shopify's systems, policies, retention practices, and merchant controls. SlimVID is not a backup or archival service. ## 9. Original Shopify Media As part of normal optimization processing, SlimVID is designed to preserve the merchant's original Shopify-hosted video rather than overwrite that original file with an optimized result. Optimized video results are generally created separately. Where applicable, SlimVID maintains technical mapping information between an original video source and an optimized result. Merchant actions, Shopify platform behavior, Shopify file deletion, other applications, or other circumstances outside SlimVID's control may nevertheless affect whether an original or optimized media file remains available. ## 10. Storefront App Embed, Mapping, Fallback, and Restore Where a merchant enables SlimVID storefront functionality, SlimVID may use mapping information to determine whether an applicable existing Shopify-hosted video source should use an optimized file. SlimVID's storefront integration is designed to operate only where an applicable valid mapping exists. SlimVID is not designed to intentionally modify unrelated videos or external video embeds. If an optimized source becomes unavailable or cannot be played, SlimVID is designed to fail open, skip the replacement, or return to the applicable original Shopify-hosted video rather than intentionally preventing the storefront video from playing. Where available, Restore is designed to deactivate the applicable SlimVID mapping and return storefront use to the original source. Restore depends on the necessary original Shopify media remaining available. ## 11. Storefront Visitors and Tracking SlimVID's storefront functionality is intended to deliver the merchant's configured video result. It is not designed to collect Shopify buyer identity, buyer order history, or buyer marketing profiles. SlimVID does not use its storefront integration for cross-site behavioral advertising. When a shopper's browser communicates with SlimVID infrastructure, standard technical information may nevertheless be processed by SlimVID or its infrastructure providers, including: - IP address; - request timestamp; - requested URL; - browser or user-agent information; - network information; and - security or diagnostic information. Such information is used for technical delivery, reliability, troubleshooting, abuse prevention, and security. ## 12. Cookies and Similar Technologies SlimVID may use session, authentication, security, or similar technologies that are reasonably necessary to operate the merchant-facing application and maintain secure communications with Shopify. SlimVID does not intentionally use the storefront integration to place advertising cookies or track shoppers across unrelated websites for behavioral advertising. Shopify, the merchant's theme, browsers, and other third-party applications or services may independently use cookies or similar technologies under their own policies. ## 13. How We Disclose Information SlimVID does **not sell personal information**. SlimVID does not disclose personal information to third parties for cross-context behavioral advertising. We may disclose information to service providers where reasonably necessary to operate SlimVID, including providers of: - cloud hosting; - computing infrastructure; - video-processing infrastructure; - storage; - content delivery; - security; - monitoring and logging; - communications; - merchant support; and - Shopify services including Shopify Billing and Shopify Files. Service providers acting for SlimVID are permitted to process information only for legitimate service-related purposes and subject to applicable contractual or legal requirements. We may also disclose information where reasonably necessary to: - comply with applicable law; - comply with court orders or lawful government requests; - investigate fraud or security incidents; - enforce the Terms of Service; - establish or defend legal claims; or - protect SlimVID, merchants, Shopify, users, or other persons. Information may also be transferred as part of a merger, financing, acquisition, restructuring, sale of assets, or similar corporate transaction, subject to applicable law. ## 14. International Data Processing Ori Game Limited is incorporated in Hong Kong. SlimVID may use infrastructure or service providers located outside Hong Kong and outside the merchant's country or region. Information may therefore be transferred to, stored in, or otherwise processed in other jurisdictions. Where applicable law requires specific safeguards for an international transfer of personal information, SlimVID will use appropriate legally recognized safeguards where required. ## 15. Data Retention SlimVID retains information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes for which it is processed. In general: - active store configuration and operational records may be retained while SlimVID remains installed and while necessary to provide the Service; - product/video mappings and related operational records may be retained while necessary to operate Apply, Restore, replacement, and related functionality; - subscription and entitlement information may be retained while necessary to administer the merchant's subscription and maintain required business records; - temporary source and intermediate video-processing files are intended to be removed when processing, retry, troubleshooting, or applicable operational recovery is complete; - diagnostic and security logs may be retained for a limited period where reasonably necessary for reliability, security, fraud prevention, incident investigation, dispute resolution, or compliance; and - applicable shop-linked SlimVID-controlled data is deleted or de-identified following uninstall or a valid Shopify deletion request, subject to lawful retention exceptions. Some information may remain temporarily in backups until the normal backup lifecycle causes the data to be overwritten or securely removed. Information stored in Shopify Files remains subject to Shopify's own systems and the merchant's Shopify controls. ## 16. Shopify Privacy and Compliance Requests SlimVID subscribes to Shopify's mandatory privacy compliance mechanisms, including: - customer data requests; - customer redaction requests; and - shop redaction requests. SlimVID does not currently request Shopify Customer or Order access scopes for its core Service and is not designed to maintain a database of Shopify buyer profiles or order histories. Shopify may nevertheless provide limited customer identifiers within a mandatory privacy webhook so that the request can be processed. Any such information is used only as necessary to receive, authenticate, process, and respond to the applicable privacy request. For a valid shop redaction request, SlimVID deletes or de-identifies applicable shop-linked information under SlimVID's control in accordance with Shopify requirements and applicable law, subject to legally permitted retention requirements. ## 17. Individual Privacy Rights Depending on applicable law, an individual may have rights relating to personal information, including rights to request: - access; - correction; - deletion; - restriction; - objection; - portability; or - information about particular processing activities. A Shopify buyer should generally contact the relevant Shopify merchant first where that merchant controls the buyer relationship. Merchants and other individuals may also contact SlimVID directly using the information below. SlimVID may need to verify identity, store ownership, account authority, or other authorization before responding to a request. SlimVID will not unlawfully discriminate against an individual for exercising applicable privacy rights. ## 18. Security SlimVID uses reasonable administrative, organizational, and technical safeguards designed to protect information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, destruction, or misuse. Depending on the relevant system, safeguards may include: - encrypted network communications; - authentication and access control; - restricted production access; - verification of Shopify-originated webhooks; - signed or authenticated requests where applicable; - separation of operational environments; - logging and monitoring; - error handling; and - storefront fallback protections. No information system can provide absolute security. Accordingly, SlimVID cannot guarantee that unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction will never occur. ## 19. Merchant Responsibilities Merchants are responsible for ensuring that they have all rights and lawful authority required to upload, select, process, optimize, and display content through SlimVID. This includes obtaining any licenses, permissions, releases, notices, or consents required in connection with: - copyright; - trademarks; - music; - images; - voices; - likenesses; - publicity rights; - personal information; and - other protected material contained in a video. ## 20. Children's Privacy SlimVID is intended for merchants and authorized business users. The merchant-facing Service is not directed to children, and SlimVID does not knowingly solicit personal information directly from children through the Service. ## 21. Changes to This Privacy Policy SlimVID may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes to the Service, processing practices, legal requirements, or Shopify platform requirements. If a material change is made, SlimVID will update the “Last Updated” date and provide additional notice where required by applicable law. ## 22.
